The Supplier Diversity Allicance of Canada was formed to represent 4 organisations that offer supplier diversity certification to a wide range of business categories, including packged goods:
Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC – representing Aboriginal and visible minority-owned businesses),
Canadian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC – representing LGBT-owned businesses),
Inclusive Workplace Supply Council of Canada (IWSCC - representing Veterans and/or people with disabilities who own businesses) and
Women Business Enterprises Canada Council (WBE Canada - representing women-owned businesses).
Each of these organizations have a process in place to connect with a brand owner and potentially award them a certification if their criteria are met. Each organization has differnt benefits, connections, resources that they offer to certified companies in their network.
For many brand owners this certification can be a valued addition to a pitch, presentation or sell sheet.
